Police Dog Kuta was attached to the Special Emergency Response Team (SERT Brisbane) for 6 ½ years as an operational tactical working dog.  Kuta was born on the 22/07/2015 and purchased as an 8 week old puppy and  trained to the highest level by his original SERT Handler.

He commenced service on the 10/06/2017and was handled by 2 different SERT officers during his service.  He had multiple capabilities not limited to, tracking, building search, hostage rescue, off lead search, Close Quarter building clearance with SERT officers and other skills.  He was present in many of the notable SERT deployments since 2015.  He was responsible for numerous high risk offender detentions during his career.

He has conducted training with the SASR during his career and highly regarded by many in the K9 industry.  Most importantly Kuta was loved by all who he worked to protect.  He was super kind and friendly to his work colleagues but ferocious to those who choose to do wrong.

Kuta has also fathered multiple police K9’s that are still currently serving within Australia.  He has been nominated for the national police dog medal in recognition for his service.

Since retirement Kuta has been living the good life with a police family enjoying couch living, beach and surf visits to the sunny coast and the occasional trip back to the SERT office for special occasions.
