PD Hondo and Sc Nick Donald commenced training together in January 2014, completing the Basic Dog Handler Course in May 2014.
The Team commenced duties with the Gold Coast Dog Squad, where they immediately had success.
PD Hondo proved adaptable and a quick learner. He had a great temperament for police work and was well regarded within the squad and the Gold Coast Policing District.
He displayed a high work ethic and success rate locating hundreds of offenders over a seven year period of service.
Hondo loved his work, was dependable and had a very close bond with Nick. He loved his home life just as much, enjoying the beach and sleeping poolside.
He was great with children and would often do school visits and displays.
Hondo's son is now also on the beat PD Trigger is much like his father and a great police dog.
