Police Dog Gilly PD437

Police Dog Gilly PD437

PD Gilly was born in 2017 at the Brisbane Dog Squad Headquarters.

Senior Constable Joel Davidson commenced course with PD Gilly in 2018 and he was his first dog in the Queensland Police Service.

SC Davidson and PD Gilly worked their entire career together in Mount Isa before PD Gilly was medically retired in 2024 due to having severe arthritis and a nerve degenerative disease.

PD Gilly was a very proud dog and demonstrated his abilities very well. He was responsible for catching hundreds of offenders in his region as well as locating numerous high risk missing persons and children.

PD Gilly was a very balanced dog. He could go from catching violent offenders to doing a school visit and never let the Queensland Police Service down.

He was one of those dogs that had a presence about him and he gave police that extra bit of confidence knowing he was there.

PD Gilly is currently residing in Mount Isa with family friends of SC Joel Davidson as he currently handles PD Buzz in Mount Isa.

We thank PD Gilly for his service to the people of Queensland and we welcome you to the Blue Paws Family.
